Early Life and Education
Shoaib Akhtar was born into a middle-class family in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
He grew up playing cricket on the streets of Rawalpindi where he developed a love for the game. He attended Asghar Mall College in Rawalpindi where he focused on his studies while playing cricket. It was during this time that he was first noticed by selectors for his raw speed and ability to swing the ball.

Shoaib Akhtar played 46 Test matches for Pakistan, taking an average of 178 wickets in 25 overs.He is known for his raw speed and his ability to generate his swing and bounce off any surface. In 2002, he managed a record 6/11 against New Zealand in Lahore.
Shoaib Akhtar played 163 ODIs for Pakistan taking 247 wickets at an average of 24.97.He was a key member of Pakistan’s ODI team in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2002, his best result was 5/19 against New Zealand in Sharjah.
Shoaib Akhtar made 15 T20I appearances for Pakistan and took 19 wickets at an average of 23.73. He was part of the Pakistani T20I team that won the World T20 in 2009.
